DEAN SCHAEFER

 

Dean brings over fourteen years of biomedical device experience, much of which involves developing devices used for the treatment of vascular diseases in the field of interventional radiology. Dean was the director of R&D for Rox Medical which pioneered a novel vascular solution in the treatment of COPD. Previous to that he was a project manager for MicroVention, a company that developed the platinum and enhanced neurovascular coils for the treatment of cerebral aneurysms. Dean entered the interventional radiology field with Boston Scientific to develop super selective microcatheters, guidewires, and oncology products. His first biomedical device assignment was at UroMed where Dean worked primarily on manufacturing high precision, high volume devices to be used in the treatment of female urinary incontinence. Dean holds a Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree from Northeastern University and is obtaining his MBA from the University of California.
